  • Levitra Uses

Levitra is a medicine used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Levitra works by allowing blood vessels to dilate and increase blood flow to the penis. Levitra is currently only licensed for use in treating erectile dysfunction. It may be used in both adults and geriatric patients, but it may not be used in children. The uses of Levitra are somewhat limited given its effects on blood pressure. As a PDE5 inhibitor, the drug serves to lower bodily blood pressure as a consequence of dilating blood vessels. This means Levitra cannot be used in patients who are taking antihypertensive drugs, as it may result in critically low levels of blood pressure. Levitra also prolongs the QT interval of the heart, meaning it should not be taken with drugs that affect the QT interval, such as amiodarone. Levitra should not be used in patients with severe renal or hepatic disease.
