Alprazolam has become a useful drug for prescribers in recent years thanks to its sustained efficacy and wide range of treatment options. It can, for example, be used in the treatment of anxiety disorders, ranging from mild to severe. Alprazolam may also be employed in the treatment of more unexpected anxiety disorders, such as panic disorder. It may also be used in the treatment of depression. Alprazolam is, however, not limited to psychologically-based conditions. It finds use in treating chemotherapy-induced nausea, for example. This would not be considered a typical treatment choice, but the option is available should prescribers choose to do so. Alprazolam may also be used for purposes not mentioned in this guide, at the discretion of the prescriber.
